Is this the bizarro world version of Puja and I?
So I know this one will be a little out there for some folks but I am incredibly proud of this.
There is this video game–Grand Theft Auto. Not for the feint of heart to be sure. Pretty adult fare, to put it mildly.
But it is also insanely popular and the trailer for GTA 6 amassed over 150MM hits in a week on YouTube. If you’re one of the few who havent seen it you can check it out here:
I thought the trailer was really cool, not so much because of the adulty stuff going on but because of the central arc.
The concept of two people sticking together and forming a team to make it in a dark world. The importance of trust. And of course the musical’s track focus on love– a critical thematic element in everything we do around here.
And to be sure TCPAWorld is an incredibly dangerous world. The petty thugs and charlatans that populate the fictional Vice City in GTA6 do not hold a candle to the professional extortionists (my view) that populate TCPAWorld.
Most criminals will never hit a bank or a large corporation for a million dollar score in their “careers.” The plaintiff’s lawyers around here “rob” banks with gotcha lawsuits that result in multi-million dollar “hits” routinely and repeatedly.
Viewed through that lens, of course, Puja and I are more like cops than the anti-hero lowlifes of the video game. And that makes our spoof video–getting to that–slightly off course.
But the overarching idea of two people coming together and trusting one another to form a team and go off against the world is really quite profound and echos our experience as attorneys teaming up to make it through a fraught environment with #biglaw always on our tails.
In any event, we put out a lot of great content but I am DEFINITELY prouder of this little spoof than virtually anything else we have done. I hope you enjoy it–watch it a few times to really get an appreciation for it–and share with your friends and colleagues.
