Well I just pressed “send” to forward with REACH Standards V 2.0 to the standards committee for final review before the huge vote next week.
The new REACH standards will be fully compliant with the FCC’s one-to-one rule and also push lead sellers and direct-to-consumer marketers to new standards of compliance and consumer-friendly practices.
For instance, the standards require full possession of PEWC for all forms of telephonic marketing contact–including over-the-top-services!, which no regulator has yet touched.
The standards also ban the listing or ranking of company names on forms based on ping post or auction results–effectively ending the practice of selling leads to the highest bidder.
The standards also require fraud detection, third-party witness software usage and use of RND database for all REACH members.
Plus, prerecorded or AI voice calls cannot be used as an initial contact with consumers–assuring consumers are first greeted with a human voice when connecting with a brand.
All of this is designed to assure that REACH leads are the industry’s most compliant and trustworthy leads and that REACH member calls and traffic are clean as a whistle.
REACH lead buyers will cease buying non-conforming leads shortly after the standards are adopted which means lead sellers throughout the industry need to start conforming with these standards TODAY if they want access to the massive buying power of REACH members.
Its all part of REACH’s commitment to create a sustainable and healthy lead generation ecosystem that will stand the test of time and win back regulator confidence in the industry.
Once these standards are adopted REACH will begin its push to address the carriers’ terrible call blocking and labeling regime and petition the FCC to forbid blocking of messages and calls based on leads conforming to REACH standards!
