Folks often ask me for a list of “bad” lead vendors. I have scruples about preparing such a list myself.
But when someone else does it I am very interested.
So Allstate apparently has a list of lead vendors it does not allow its agents to buy from.
Thought it was an interesting read. I have NOT vetted this list and express NO opinion on its accuracy. Just passing it along because a major insurer has deemed these companies unfit to by leads from and that is definitely newsworthy.
Obviously no REACH members on this list.
The more I think about this the more interesting I find it that Allstate is allowing lead purchase to continue but picking off individual companies. I also wonder whether appearance on this list comes solely from litigation troubles or if there are other factors at play.
If anyone from Allstate corporate wants to come on the podcast to discuss would be happy to have you.

Noteworthy (and telling) is the headline: “Restricted Third-Party Vendors Announcement – Update October 11, 2024”
Would love to see all the prior lists, since this is just an ‘update’…
Could this bolster the vicarious liability claim aspect against Allstate (although they already regularly get nailed for the multitude of illegal calls from the leadgens their agents use) since they specifically state:
“These restrictions are necessary given the significant legal exposure that can be created for Allstate when the agency uses a service that may not be fully compliant with the law…”
It’s a banner day for us victimized consumers!!
Thanks for posting this Eric!!
Too late, Allstate. They’ve already made my banned list of insurance providers, presumably via one of the listed suppliers.
