TCPAWORLD AFTERDARK: The Golden Lion meets the Golden Bears

So I was trying to keep this a secret. But Cal dropped a press release and tons of you saw it.

So, yes.

We will have our logo ON THE FIELD at Cal Memorial Stadium for the next four years.

At the 25 yard line.

A 28 by 20 foot logo.

The lion.

In bear territory.

My alma mater.

Just pause and think about that for a second.

I will post more about why I did this later.

Obviously I am a Golden Bear for life. Like Oppenheimer before me.

I wanted to attend Cal since I was in 4th grade.

It was the only school I applied to.

But this wasn’t a move from the heart.

Tell me this isn’t a good investment.

Tell me every company in its right mind won’t want the real estate we just acquired.

Especially when Cal makes the playoff next year (or maybe the year after.)

For those who know college sports– is there a single other team IN THE NATION that you’d rather buy stock in? Not me. This is a classic “buy low” situation.

Anyway, here’s the first of several press releases. You’ll definitely want to watch the big game to see how SICK this looks in real life. Its ridiculous guys. Could not be happier.

Lots more soon.

Cal Athletics Enters Sponsorship Agreement With Troutman Amin, LLP

Nationally Recognized Law Firm Will Have Its Logos Painted On Field At California Memorial Stadium

BERKELEY – In its ongoing commitment to identifying new and innovative revenue streams while valuing regional and strategic partnerships, Cal Athletics and Learfield Cal Bears Sports Properties announced Wednesday an impactful sponsorship agreement with Troutman Amin, LLP, highlighted by corporate logos on the playing field at California Memorial Stadium.

Troutman Amin is a nationally recognized law firm that was founded by Eric J. Troutman, a 1999 Cal alumnus.

“We are absolutely thrilled to enter into this innovative new partnership with Troutman Amin, LLP, especially since Eric Troutman is a Golden Bear himself,” Cal Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton said. “Troutman Amin’s support helps us in our ongoing quest to provide a world-class experience for our student athletes and is another means for us to generate revenue as we move forward in this evolving landscape of intercollegiate athletics.”

Troutman Amin, LLP’s logos will be painted on the 25-yard line at both ends of the field, across from the ACC logos. The new logos are expected to be on the field in time for the Big Game this Saturday against Stanford.

“As Cal heads into the Big Game this weekend, we’re excited to feature Troutman Amin LLP’s logo on the field at California Memorial Stadium,” said Joey Swanner, General Manager at Cal Bears Sports Properties. “This partnership offers tremendous potential as we continue to bring more opportunities to our partners in growing and emerging categories.”

Troutman Amin, LLP, based out of Irvine, Calif., handles multi-billion dollar complex federal court litigation and provides compliance advice on federal and state laws across the country.

“If you stop and think about it, this was a no-brainer for us,” Troutman said. “Cal is one of the top two schools in Silicon Valley, and one of the nation’s leading engines for high-tech innovation. Troutman Amin, LLP is recognized as one of the country’s most innovative law firms focused on emerging practice areas like telecom, data privacy and AI. So, this is an absolutely perfect match. And the fact that I am a Cal grad just makes it all the more meaningful.”

“The University of California, Berkeley, is one of the greatest universities on Earth and the Cal brand is one of the strongest in college sports,” Troutman Amin, LLP partner Puja J. Amin said. “At Troutman Amin, LLP, we are all about defending and growing powerful brands across the country. Our lion shield logo on the field at California Memorial Stadium sends a powerful message – we are fully behind the Cal Athletics program and happy to help the massive network of Cal alums out there as they continue innovating solutions to the world’s toughest problems, just like how Troutman Amin, LLP handles the world’s toughest litigation – day in, day out.”
