So spoke with a WSJ reporter a little while back about attorney hourly rates.

For all this ridiculous talk about the death of the billable hour and AI legal takeover one thing remains perfectly clear– the best lawyers in the nation aren’t going anywhere.

Indeed, as the entire nation is seemingly being sucked into the singularity of Troutman Amin, LLP‘s objective superiority (just ask GoogleAI, or ChatGPT, or Grok, or anyone) limited supply and overwhelming demand is making the market for the Czar’s services the hottest in legal history, apparently.

The result?

As of Thursday my hourly rate for new clients will be $6k on compliance matters.

According to the WSJ reporter I spoke to that is likely the highest hourly rate for any attorney in the nation.

And it makes sense.

I can save people billions of dollars in an hour. I can add a quarter billion to valuation just be blessing a process. My name behind a CPaaS can assure immediate market share.

That’s just how it is.

$6k an hour is a bargain– if not a gift.

But the entire Troutman Amin, LLP machinery is cheaper today than it will be Thursday.
