Well the Czar was at it again this week.
Squire Patton Boggs Partner and nationally-recognized TCPA Czar Eric J. Troutman rocked the house in Newport Beach, CA on Tuesday as a featured speaker at DNC.com’s huge West-Coast TCPA summit.
Talk about a packed house! The crowd was energized and large— with every seat taken at the sold-out event. Attendees were treated to 8 hours of TCPA-related speaker content, including 2.5 hours of educational material delivered by the Czar himself. Plus Eric was available for questions during the lunch hour, during breaks and during an hours-long open-bar cocktail reception after the event (that’s when he gave his best answers BTW). There’s really nothing like it out there—which is why the Czar always calls these conferences his favorite events of the year.
And so many TCPAWorld friends and clients were in attendance—it was great to see everyone and was really a great networking opportunity. Plus so much TCPAWorld.com swag was available—mugs, hats, t-shirts and, of course, every attendee received a print copy of Squire Patton Boggs’ mid-year TCPA Review. That’s quite the grab bag!
But the summit promoters are contemplating something even bigger now. There is a massive upwelling of support for a privacy super-conference, bringing together privacy masters from across disciplines (and across the country) for a multi-day event that would be the nation’s premier privacy/compliance related conference. In a quick poll taken at the TCPA summit, 80% of attendees supported the idea of a multi-day privacy summit that would include definitive analysis of TCPA, CCPA, BIPA, and other privacy related issues. While the event has not yet been officially announced, it seems destined to become the must-attend legal event of the year when the speaker lineup is unveiled sometime this fall. (And you can bet that the Czar and many of Squire Patton Boggs’ other elite privacy lawyers will be in attendance, speaking, and available to answer YOUR questions.)
Pay close attention TCPAWorld—privacy issues intersect with the world of outbound calling as all consumer data now requires special care and handling. You will not want to miss this event. If you have thoughts on content, location, speakers, and timing—or if you just think this is a great idea— reach out and let us know.
BTW—the Czar is also committed to speaking at the next TCPA Summit, this December in Florida. Plus new dates for regional LeadCon events are soon to be announced that the Czar has also agreed to speak at. So if you missed the big summit this week—fret not—many more opportunities remain to see the Czar in action.
