Well I lost the pool. Ha!
We were on high alert today anticipating the big SCOTUS TCPA ruling but it did not come. Notably, the Supreme Court has now ruled on both of the cases argued the day before Barr and there are now ZERO cases ahead of Barr in terms of age (a case from January argument was just decided today.)
Translation: we will have an opinion very soon. But NOT today.
I was so certain we’d have a decision today I even shaved– ha. But, alas, we are moving the big webinar to next week–likely Tuesday (7/7). I will do an additional post when it is re-set. For those of you that missed your chance to view the last one–registration filled up I believe– I think you will have a chance to catch this one but don’t be mad if I am wrong. (And sorry to anyone who loses their seat but you have to move fast in this game.) The DNC.com guys are in charge of setting it up but keep an eye on TCPAWorld.com for the announcement.
As I mentioned yesterday the Supremes have a conference set for tomorrow (7/1). At the conference they will likely announce the next opinion day and we’ll let you know when it is. While the COVID has messed us up a bit, given the cadence of decisions, and with Barr now on deck, it seems there is about a 99% chance we will have a ruling on either Thursday (7/2), Monday (7/6) or Tuesday (7/7).
Stay tuned…
