Responsible Enterprises Against Consumer Harassment (R.E.A.C.H.) held a board meeting today to discuss whether to set standards for industry participants leveraging AI in either outbound or inbound communications flows. It voted unanimously to do so.
This action follows recent FCC efforts to regulate outbound AI communication and require disclosures of the use of such technology.
“We see this as a critical opportunity for R.E.A.C.H. to take the reigns and guide industry as it pioneers this new and exciting technology.” Said R.E.A.C.H. president Eric J. Troutman “Industry needs to take the lead in helping to educate regulators on both the promise and peril of AI outreach, and educate regulators on the proper course for present and future policy.”
R.E.A.C.H. is seeking input from all industry participants as the powerful trade organization’s Technology Committee has been tasked with creating a holistic standard and policy document to govern industry.
“If you are using AI in either outbound or inbound communication and want to have a voice in the creation of policies and standards that will govern industry and influence regulation for decades to come, now if your chance.” Said Troutman. “Never been an opportunity like this. Don’t miss it.”
