Trusty is currently a staffer for Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS).

Trump made his announcement on Truth Social.

Rosenworcel will be stepping down on Monday reducing the number of Commissioners from five to four. If Trusty is formally appointed and approved she will be the fifth Commissioner and return the FCC to full strength.

Notably it took Biden nearly a year to nominate his original pick for the fifth commissioner–Gigi Sohn–who was ultimately not installed after former West Virginia senator Joe Manchin pulled his support. Biden eventually appointed Gomez who took office nearly three years into his administration.

It looks like Trump will be moving much faster.
