All right folks, hold on to your hats.
Late last night R.E.A.C.H. filed an emergency petition with the FCC requesting it to stay effectiveness of the one-to-one rule in light of an executive order signed by Trump upon taking office.
The order--which is available here–directs all executive agencies to “consider” staying implementation of rules that have been published in the federal registrar but not yet become effective. The one-to-one rule appears to be such a rule.
As the rule is not automatically stayed but must be stayed by the federal agency implementing the rule R.E.A.C.H. has asked for such relief.
If granted effectiveness of the one-to-one rule would be stayed until March 18, 2025.
While R.E.A.C.H. generally supports the one-to-one rule it has filed comments suggesting important modifications to help small businesses better comply with the rule.
We will keep you posted.
