Apropos of nothing, was talking with a former FCC enforcement lawyer yesterday who was telling me how much the Commission loves my blog and how closely they follow it.
I had heard that before, of course, but it is always nice to hear.
Nothing unusual there though.
But I chatted with a CFPB enforcement lawyer today and he also told me how much the staff over there loves my blog as well.
That was a little surprising.
I don’t discuss CFPB near as much as I do FCC and TCPA but apparently all the nerdy government staffers read TCPAWorld–although I hear “general purpose” news sites just got banned for federal workers.
Unclear whether TCPAWorld is exempted from the ban– anyone know? Would love to find out.
In all seriousness, it is pretty wild to be arguably the best read legal blogger on the planet.
Then again it is hardly surprising since literally no one else covers stories in this space until I do. So little wonder the blog is so popular.
For instance, literally NO ONE is covering the massive increase in TCPA litigation lately, even while robocalls have been dropping. Makes no sense right?
NO ONE was covering the FCC’s new revocation rules but us.
NO ONE picked up on the new trend of TCPA class actions focused on SMS timing rules but us.
That’s three big scoops in just the last week. And of course we are always the FIRST to break news like the FCC stay of one-to-one or the IMC ruling.
When other law firms finally do get around to covering these stories they read like Chat-GPT re-writes of my articles. Hahahahaha
Yet we do it all for free.. and this isn’t my day job folks.
Then again, blogging does help my day job.
I mean rather obviously running the blog keeps me informed on all the ins and outs and trends of TCPA litigation. I know what’s happening. Why its happening. And what is going to happen next.
Makes me a hell of a lawyer.
But that’s not actually what I’m talking about
As everyone knows I started TCPAWorld not to drive business but to help other defense lawyers dabbling in the TCPA to have a resource to understand the law so they’d stop making bad arguments in bad cases and creating bad case law for my clients.
But I quickly discovered it was a very healthy hobby for me.
The Czar usually wakes up sometime between 430 and 530 am. I do most of my blogging and marketing efforts before 7 am–it helps me to get my brain warmed up. Then I usually do a run or a work out of some kind to get me firing on all cylinders.
So by 8:30 I am done marketing and working out and my brain is fired up and ready to go.
In the end everyone loves the blog, and I love blogging. Keeps me happy and healthy. Keeps you informed. And keeps my clients paying for my time only when I am at my best.
So there you go.
Last, I’ve decided I am going to compile a Top Ten list of TCPA defense counsel. Will be out next month. If you can think of someone that definitely should (or should not) be on the list let me know. I suspect it will be VERY well read. 😉
Much love everyone.

Face it… TCPAWorld is a great resource and should be required reading for anyone involved in TCPA space. But, I do disagree that robocalls have been dropping. I believe that the actual numbers are up, but consumers are becoming more “desensitized” to the calls and taking the position that reporting the calls to the tracking sources is a waste of time. Perhaps this would explain why class actions are up. I can personally attest that, over the past year, the use of AI voice technology has taken an explosive growth in actual number.
I agree – I think the raw volume of robocalls is up, but I’d love to be proven wrong with facts!
Also, I’ve dialed down my personal robocall annoyance by letting my Pixel phone screen all calls that aren’t in my contacts. So Mom can call me, but Mom’s Robot Company can’t. 🙂
