On Friday the R.E.A.C.H. trade organization held its member and board calls and there was much success to discuss.

Responsible Enterprises Against Consumer Harassment (R.E.A.C.H.) has been working hard to stop unwanted robocalls and to clean up the messy telecom infrastructure and has sought the FCC’s help.

In the last 10 days R.E.A.C.H. has filed two key FCC comments as well as an important ex parte seeking to prevent ongoing censorship by wireless carriers of lawful and consented communications– including URGENT updates consumers may need in order to finalize a mortgage or insurance application.

First, on  April 10, 2025 R.E.A.C.H. filed its critical comment supporting a recent petition to clamp down on frivolous lawsuits from consumers who may travel to different time zones and then unfairly sue companies for texting them too early or too late based on their location rather than their area or zip code.  Full comment here: REACH – Comments on ‘Quiet Hours’ Petition -04102025

Next, on April 11, 2025 R.E.A.C.H. submitted its comments on the FCC’s “Delete, Delete, Delete” docket, requesting numerous arduous TCPA regulations to be rolled back to be more consistent with Congressional intent in passing the TCPA. Then on April 25, 2025 R.E.A.C.H. submitted a further reply supporting the out-of-time SMS petition and provided a ROBUST analysis of litigation trends demonstrating these lawsuits are frivolous in nature and filed solely to shake down small businesses. Then on April 28, 2025 R.E.A.C.H. president Eric J. Troutman and several members of his team sat down with Chairman Carr’s office to discuss the ongoing scourge of carrier call and SMS blocking and mislabeling.
