The pre-show canvas.
Crushed it. Destroyed it. Annihilated it.
Created a market. Created a paradigm. And then destroyed all expectations.

I mean, the show started with a quadriplegic–a guy who was told he would never move his legs again— STANDING UP on stage to help people overcome their own challenges in life.
Standing ovation after he did what NO ONE EXPECTED.
And then everybody else had to follow THAT!!!
If that doesn’t tell you the level of education. information, inspiration, and entertainment we were going for then nothing will.
And we nailed it. All of us. Together.

The partners pre-show.
Anyone that attended the show agreed it was the greatest law conference they had ever attended. And it wasn’t even close.
Nothing else, really, to even compare it to.
Pre-show jitters.
Nobody throwing a law conference has EVER EVEN TRIED to throw the greatest law conference. They just put a bunch of lawyers up on a stage and hope for the best.

Our pre-show planning session Saturday am.
Its like nobody really even wants to do this show genre well. Or maybe they think it can’t be done.
All right. Hold my beer.

The 2025 installment of Law Conference of Champions– our third annual event– pushed the firm to its limits. Every single member of the firm was directly involved in the show to some degree.
All of us.
And it took every single member of the team working together and EXECUTING flawlessly for us to bring this show to life.

Dani did it.
Top praise must go to Dani who ran point setting up and the show and served as show runner during the event. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT JOB. She put hundreds of hours into this thing folks. And it showed.

These two were INCREDIBLE hosting the virtual option
The show began with the virtual option kicking off on time at 8:30 am and hosted by our two tremendous hosts– Blake Landis and Tammana Malik. Virtual attendees LOVED them– and so did I. So much energy. So much precision.
They worked off each other better than any television duo I have ever seen. Expect to see a ton of their content on the YouTube channel soon. They were simply amazing.

Embroidered handbags filled with high-impact items. Quality everywhere you look.
In person guests were greeted by Steven and Sarah and a swag bag to create envy from coast to coast. Plus every attendee received a free t-shirt and leather bound noteboook to keep notes!

Custom leather-bound notebooks and pens at each seat.
Then our incredible MC Angelika Munger kicked off the show at 9 am pacific. Known as the Duchess, Angelika received such warm praise last year that we decided to have her host the entire thing this year. She absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Just before we entered the room. 🙂
At 9:04 am the partners entered the room to incredible fanfare. The walk up was more akin to a WWE entrance than anything you’ve ever seen at a law conference. We will get some video of it up on @DeservetoWin Youtube Channel soon (you REALLY should subscribe folks.)

After a few remarks the keynote — Robert Paylor.

If you don’t know this guy’s story you need to look him up RIGHT NOW. And as anyone will tell you his key note was the stuff of legend.

I have never heard a crowd audibly gasp. Audibly cheer. Audibly writhe around together in emotional turmoil and rise again in unison the way I did during his keynote. It was easily the best and most inspiring thing I have ever seen in my life– and I do not expect it will ever be topped. And basically everyone I spoke to at the show agreed.

Nobody expected this– not even me.
Ever see a standing ovation like this 30 minutes into a show? Nope.
So then I had to follow Robert. Yeah. That was wild. Had so much desire to follow up on threads he had laid down but I had a job to do– talk about the TCPA.

And I did it. Well. Hell it was likely my best performance ever– and that is saying something.

how did I manage to do that?
But you’ve all seen me present before. So no matter how tremendous the delivery and how new and critical the content, I knew I had to give something they weren’t expecting.
Nobody saw this coming…
So I closed my session with a trio performed along with two classically-trained opera singers–Yasmeen and Mary– who also just happen to work for me. (We hire TALENT folks. Bet on it.)
Now the show was really blazing.

And along comes Puja and an ABSOLUTELY WORLD CLASS panel to discuss TCPA issues.

How’s this for a TCPA panel:
- Cardinal Financial General Counsel Jon Paul
- Block Regulatory Counsel Jeremy Gladstone; and
- Klaviyo Corporate Counsel Cody DeCamp
Holy smokes.

And these incredible individuals BRAVELY discussed TCPA compliance at their institutions open and honestly. I was STUNNED by some of the things they said. Seriously.
A Puja’s moderating was roundly (and properly) praised as “brilliant.”

After a short break– during which the virtual session NEVER stopped with live content and interviews–we returned for the Baroness’ incredible CIPA panel.

And how about this line up for the panel:
- Americor General Counsel Nima Vahdat;
- AM Healthcare Privacy Counsel Anna Mogilevski; and
- Kajabi Associate General Counsel Pavin Kang.

Again, the content was superb, the insights valuable, the takeaways actionable and the moderating was brilliant.

Ack.
Plus did you see these shoes the Baroness pulled off???? Insane (and awesome.)
Then onto the meatiest session of the day.

Our incredible countess with virtual co-host Blake Landis.
Every year the Countess– Jenniffer Cabrera– has the biggest LCOC challenge: how to fold all the developments around data privacy into a single session.

Well once again she performed MASTERFULLY delivering what is–without doubt– the most comprehensive and superb data privacy presentation you will EVER SEE.

No wonder folks called this show the most “information dense conference they had ever attended.”
We don’t mess around folks– and the Countess brought arguably the most info dense session in this info-dense show.

An incredible bunch.
She was joined by two ABSOLUTE ACES:
- eXp Realty Privacy, Cybersecurity and Tech Counsel Anthony Witkowsky; and
- Citizens Disability VP of Compliance John Klapick.
Just unreal how well this session went.
Then came a wonderful hot lunch– seabass and filet minion anyone? (There’s a reason this is called the “Rolls Royce of Conferences”)

All of that… and we are barely at lunch time.
The afternoon held a cornucopia of delights– including the show’s HIGHEST RATED SESSION.

Preview of SHARK TANK– THE MOST TALKED ABOUT SESSION.
But I have work to do. So you will have to wait for tomorrow to hear about the afternoon sessions and the incredible happy hour that closed the show. 🙂

Its all leading up to this folks..
See you tomorrow. Love you all.
