“I can’t even tell you how much of a breath of fresh air the LCOC was compared to the last legal and compliance conference I attended.”

That sums up the opinions of basically everyone I’ve talked to about the show.
Or as another conference planner said: “[T]ruly a fantastic event overall… Feedback during breaks and lunch was the same – your attendees are singing praises about your ability to pack a day’s worth of legal content into an agenda and make it interesting and entertaining throughout.”

This is the theme. “Info-dense” “packed with content” “took reams of notes to review.”
I wonder if we actually provided that much more information or if we just provided it in a way that was interesting and educational so folks actually paid attention and learned something. Hahaha.

So when last we parted ways we had discussed the amazing lunch that we served at the conference (which, for some reason, I do not have pictures of hahaha.)
Can we just discuss the issue of food served at conferences for a moment.
People ay thousands of dollars to attend a show and then get served sandwiches in a box with a bag of chips. Its crazy in my view.

We served tasty steak and seabass with potatoes and those little carrot things– like the long ones not the cut up ones. And there were donuts and delicious cookies and milk during breaks– again not like low end cookies. Good high end cookies and fresh milk in nice carafes.
Makes you feel good and taken care of.
That’s the entire concept of the “Rolls Royce of shows.”
Anyway so after lunch it was time for the highlight of the show.
The shark tank.

Three of the most powerful Plaintiff’s lawyers in the nation on a single panel:
- The number one CIPA filer in the nation (Josh Swigart);
- The number one FCRA filer in the nation (Tav Gomez); and
- The Godfather of TCPA class actions (Abbas Kazerounian).
Live. On stage.

Unreal.
And Puja– the lion tamer– poking and prodding and occasionally roasting them for 45 minutes.

The mighty Queenie looming over her panel.
The session started with Puja stating she refused to sit down beside them and she stood the entire time as she peppered them with questions.
Occasionally Josh would try to needle her and ask her a question to which Queenie would respond “oh no, you’re not deposing me” and refuse to give any answers.

Abbas answering to the powerful Queenie while Tav and Josh look on with the posture of obedient school children.
I was wildly uncomfortable because I always like everyone to be so nice to each other. But Puja had no interest in being nice… and the crowd freaking loved it.
I received a text a minute during the session– everyone of which seemed to include an F bomb:
“This is f-cking unreal.”
“This is the greatest f-cking thing I have ever seen.”
“This is f-cking amazing.”

People were very very VERY pleased with the panel.
And what’s funny is that a lot of folks stated they didn’t want to come to a show where these three would be in attendance. No matter that they arrived at lunch and we rushed them off the stage and out of the room as soon as their session was over. There are some folks who just do not want to hear from the other side.
But for those who chose to sit and listen there were gold nuggets everywhere.
When Puja wasn’t needling the guys she was getting incredible statements and admissions out of them. It was truly the greatest learning experience for businesses trying to stay out of trouble.
Just incredible.
Of course I, once again, had to follow an amazing session.

After Puja’s thunderous applause my panel kicked off.
It was just the greatest lead generation panel ever assembled.

Think I’m kidding?
Imagine:
- Lending Tree General Counsel Heather Enlow
- Everquote Counsel Chris Hurld
- Veterans United Counsel Andrew Bach; and
- The incredible Manny Zuccarelli of Quote Velocity.
All on one incredible panel.

Simply amazing.
We hammered important trends in the lead gen space and explored legal issues impacting lead sellers and buyers alike. We addressed one-to-one issues, the uncertainty following McKesson, the role of AI, and ultimately what the future of the industry looked like.

Such profound and meaningful take aways.
Really an incredible session.
After a quick break we came to the last and perhaps most important panel of the day: AI in the Afternoon.

As one attendee said of the session: “Surprised me with how good this was. I thought it would be hard to deliver real value in such a short time on such a huge topic area. I stand corrected. Great panel I could have listened to a LOT more from. Insightful, tangible, down to earth explanations, variety of perspectives – loved it.”
Yeah, it was amazing.

But hard not to be when you have this sort of intellectual firepower on the stage:
- Purple’s counsel Derek Walton (perhaps the standout speaker of the show);
- UC Berkeley’s Wayne Stacey (just the head of the university’s technology law center);
- Chris Kindt. Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing at Qualfon; and
- Crowd-pleasing Pitchit CEO Mr. Paul Kleen.
Absolutely tremendous group and they did not disappoint. The powerful Dame Tori Guidry guided this panel through the rocky terrain of the most IMPORTANT legal developments on AI and what the future holds.

The audience was BLOWN AWAY by the actionable take aways and near-term developments and impacts that needed to be accounted for in real time.
Absolutely stellar.

The question and answer session brought us all together.
Then we capped the show with an hour of question and answers where folks could get FREE LIVE ANSWERS from attorneys with billing rates ranging from $850-$4,200.00 an hour.
How is that for value?
Tons of fun.
And of course the day ended with a wonderful happy hour that culminated with a toast for the ages. 🙂

And of course the day ended with
