DIVING INTO THE NUMBERS: Fundraising Numbers in California Congressional District 47 Show a Bleak Path for Republicans

Troutman remains top of the fundraising heap among competitors to Dave Min

So the numbers are in for first quarter fundraising in California’s important Congressional District 47.

Most observers agree Dave Min is a weak incumbent– a junior Democrat with a painful DUI on his record who has accomplished little in his first term in office.  But with Prop 50 skewing the map in the district, it is virtually impossible for a Republican contender to win in November.

Against this backdrop, independent candidate Eric J. Troutman has mounted an aggresive and well-funded campaign, hammering social media and holding well-attended townhall events in for the last month. His fundraising numbers continue to put him at the top of the heap.

Troutman is also making headlines for going after the sexual predators being protected by the parties, as well as for his aggresive independent positioning and willingness to debate any candidate, anytime, anywhere.

To date Troutman’s campaign has taken in over $240,000.00– well ahead of Republican Jenny Rae Le Roux and frontrunner Michael Maxsenti.

Long-shot Republican contender Christopher Gonzalez– a staunch conservative who lost badly in a failed 2022 bid for Congress has raised only $5,300.00 and has zero cash on hand.

Similarly, former assemblyman Bill Brough–whose term was mired with allegations of rape and sexual misconduct by his former female aides– has managed to raise only $6,200.00 for his comeback bid. He had less than $800.00 on hand at the time of his financial submission.

Troutman’s campaign is built around ending the party bickering, bringing down the cost of living and protecting families and small businesses. He is a strong negotiator– used to making billion dollar deals–who hopes to bring billions in spending to the district.
