THE BALLOTS ARE OUT– BUT THERE’S JUST ONE LITTLE PROBLEM: California Primary Ballots Hit the Mailboxes–But Why Isn’t Troutman Listed First As He Should Be?

So today is a big day across California– the ballots are in the mail and headed to people’s homes–and California Congressional District 47 is no exception!

Very exciting.

Although the primary isn’t until June 2, 2026 early voting starts RIGHT NOW! So people throughout beautiful Orange County can start voting for the very powerful (and wonderful) Eric Troutman!

Everybody loves Troutman, of course, although there are a lot of signs and people don’t love that. But SMART people know the signs are necessary to get name recognition since Troutman is battling the party machine (and winning!)

It looks like there’s one little mistake though– or maybe I’m missing something (I’m new at this politics thing.)

Under California Election Code section 13112(b)(1)(B) there was to be a drawing to randomize the the ballot based on last name. This is valuable, of course, because people have a tendency to pick the first or last name on a list (I know, that’s crazy– but it is also true.)

Well guess what?

Per the march 12, 2026 notification from the Secretary of State Troutman was set to be very lucky– T came up as the second letter in the new alphabet behind only q!

See!

That means Troutman should have appeared FIRST on the ballot for CA-47!

One little problem.

It looks like the OC election officials may not have got the memo– or are working off a different randomization for some reason.

The ballot that appears to have been circulated has Troutman listed in the very tough seventh spot:

I guess I’m lucky number seven?

I haven’t actually received my ballot yet so I am basing this off of what another candidate– the very classy Michael Maxsenti–sent me. He’s a good dude.

Hope you vote for Troutman. But if not, give Maxsenti a look! He’s against this CAL DOGE Scam too!

Also LAW CONFERENCE OF CHAMPIONS KICKS OFF TODAY!!!!! Show is TOTALLY SOLD OUT! But you can still buy virtual tickets!

  1. Preferénce – perhaps you are running for office in … France? Or is that just a tear in my eye that’s making me see that?

  2. Sadly, maybe there is more fact than fiction in the election conspiracy theories we have been hearing about for the last several years. When you get elected (notice that I did not say “if”), do you think you can do something to fix this problem on a global basis?

  3. The more I look at that ballot, the more bothered I become. Simple reality, no matter what the order of selection of letters, all candidates with the same first letter in their last name (think “M” as in Miranda, Min, and Maxsenti) should be bundled together. Not so here, Miranda and Min — both Democrats — are the very first two; and Maxsenti — a Republican — is at the bottom of the list. And, it is certainly curious that all of the Democrats running are at the top of the list.

  4. The alphabet lottery might be more fair than strictly alphabetic but this is a shining example of the “most secure election system” working as distorted. Meanwhile everyone is distracted by forehead slapping gerrymandering dissents.

Ballot position advantage is well known. Printing and voting technology ought to present candidates in a different randomized order for every ballot, and have a “no preference” bubble at the top of every race to handle OCD votes. This would be an even more truthful reflection of the voter’s will than an alphabet lottery.
