Yesterday, on the day the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation favorably reported the TRACED Act, S. 151, seven additional members of the Senate signed on as co-sponsors. That brings the total to thirty-two members who support the bill. The new Senators joining the TRACED Act bandwagon include five Republicans (Senators Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Rick Scott of Florida, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, and Steve Daines of Montana) and two Democrats (Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Robert Menendez of New Jersey). The bi-partisan support is now effectively evenly split with sixteen Republicans, fifteen Democrats and one Independent.
