Have a fairly significant hearing in the morning so I have to make this unduly quick.
Queenie and I adventured to our nation’s capital this week to join the wonderful team at Somos for their incredible annual summit.
The Somos Summut brought together the true leaders in the telecom world and it was absolutely incredible to be a part of it.
First, Puja and I joined the executive director of the FCC’s reassigned numbers database (administered by Somos) on Monday for a panel discussion on the CRITICAL IMPORTANCE of using the RND. (We cannot recommend it highly enough and–in fact–it is a REQUIREMENT for marketers following the vaunted R.E.A.C.H. standards.)
Puja with the Band!
Then a welcome reception followed with the incredible telecom band Harmful Interference taking the stage.
We had a GREAT time. And yes, that is Patrick Halley and the FCC’s chief robocall killer Kristi Thompson (enforcement!) rocking out on stage along with other well-known telecom names.
Puja and I hung out with Kristi a bit afterward (rumors are flying she may attend the summit–but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.)
And we got to know the INCREDIBLE CEO of Somos Gina M. Perini–SUPER cool lady!
If you don’t love your boss this much, maybe its time to switch law firms!
Then a handful of us wandered the beautiful national mall and visited the monuments at night. Such an INCREDIBLE experience. Really very happy to have shared that.
Monstrous panel with the big hitters at the Commission chatting robocalls and telecom
The next day Somos hosted an INCREDIBLE panel with three bureau chiefs of the FCC in attendance. I have never seen anything like it.
Then a FANTASTIC panel with the chief fraud detectors at Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America and PNC all on one panel. Unreal.
So many great people…
Then we all ran amock at a local watering hole and we had the best time connecting with Josh from US Telecom–who just happens to be testifying at the Senate subcommittee hearing next week (more on that tomorrow).
Puja and Josh
Was an absolutely wonderful time and we love Beth and the Somos team so much and are very grateful to have been invited to participate.
Unrelated, the ORANGE hats were a huge hit at the Irvine Global Village Festival last week. The lines to obtain our swag were incredible–everybody wants to rock the powerful Deserve to Win brand of Troutman Amin, LLP!
Our swag is sweet though!!!
