“I don’t believe it’s a legitimate public interest organization. It promotes broad principles that are admirable — like making sure class settlements are good for the class. However, NCLC doesn’t come close to living up to those standards. Instead it looks to me like their business model is to accept cy pres awards and, in return, give cover to attorneys who put together bad deals. I’d be happy to be proven wrong but NCLC went completely dark when I started presenting the initial research my team did. I’m happy to share my further investigation if there is a need (like if they are put up for getting cy pres).”

These guys should not be seeing a dime of Cy Pres money and I think I may start looking for objectors to any settlement that includes dollars going to the NCLC…
