MIXED RESULTS: January, 2024 TCPA Filings up 50% From Last Year! But it Is Not All Bad News

So last year saw TCPA filings explode–and all important TCPA class actions were up over 18% last year!

This year looks to be even worse for business as overall TCPA filings jumped an incredible 50% in January, 2024 compared to January, 2023.

The good news, however, is that only 64 of those–32%–were class actions. In 2023 over 50% of TCPA cases were class actions. And 64 is just about identical to the number of TCPA class actions filed in January, 2023.

So while the overall number of filings here is up big, the class action number is static–for now.

We will keep an eye on these trends as we get deeper into the year.
