The Baroness, Queenie, Dame and Duchess!! Four incredible legal professionals at Troutman Amin, LLP!
So today’s international woman’s day and I had this whole nice post dreamed up to commemorate it.
You all might recall that one year ago today we announced the creation of Troutman Amin, LLP:
You will recall I had started Troutman Firm less than a year prior and it was a ROARING success. But Puja had shown so much loyalty and worked so hard that I just knew giving her an equity stake and putting her name on the door was the right thing to do!!!
So many folks out there pay lip service to advancing women and assisting them with their professional development–but how many put their name on their door? How many treat them fairly and correctly?
Did you know of the top 100 law firms NONE had a woman named partner until very recently? And only because she was ADDED by the firm at the end of a long list of MALE PARTNER names, and presumably just to make a headline.
Sad.
As Troutman Amin, LLP grows you will know you are supporting firm that was co-founded by a woman and was always co-owned by a woman. Plus the firm has a bunch of other fantastic women lawyers right in line behind Puja.
Now that’s not to say guys are bad–we just added the powerful John Henson because we love dudes too, of course– but you will be hard pressed to find a firm more dedicated to the advancement of women attorneys and professionals than Troutman Amin, LLP.
And it STILL MATTERS FOLKS. Trust me.
Just today we learned that the Mobile Ecosystem Forum had kicked Puja off a panel and it would never have happened in my opinion if it wasn’t for my recent work exposing The Campaign Registry.
The pressure I created–not even intentionally BTW–was too much and the MEF guys (TJ and Dario Betti) to handle. SO THEY TOOK IT OUT ON PUJA.
You see how this works right?
The Czar is too hard a target. So they attack women.
This is how it is in business. This is how it STILL IS out there. Woman professionals are STILL perceived as weak. Woman professionals are STILL perceived as fungible.
This is why international woman’s day still matters folks.
You will always find me a steadfast supporter of Puja, and each and every one of the other INCREDIBLE and powerful women that work here at Troutman Amin, LLP.
And make no mistake. This isn’t paternalism. Puja can handle her own affairs.
But that doesn’t mean the Czar isn’t going to handle his own business as well.
And advancing women and correcting injustice is my business (along with protecting truth, beauty and the American way baby…)
At bottom–Happy International Woman’s day folks. Do something MEANINGFUL with it today. Chat soon.
