I’m basically a video game character at this point.
The hottest show on TV right now isn’t on TV.. its on TCPAWorld.com.
Absolutely unbelievable spikes in traffic right now as all the drama surrounding the death of one-to-one and the resulting vacuum of uncertainty bring people to the ultimate source of TRUTH– the Czar!
Video breakdown here.
Nobody’s watching NFL apparently. People just want TCPAWorld content.
Fine, here you go!
Quick rundown of where we are and what’s coming next!
Friday saw the second most hits EVER on TCPAWorld.com and we are on track for both our busiest week and month ALL TIME.
In fact, to date we are already DOUBLE last year’s traffic– and that was up 50% from the year before.
Nuts.

Dame, Duchess, Queenie and Danie– Just a small part of the Troutman Amin, LLP dream team!
If you could only buy stock in the Czar… (but maybe this week you’ll be able to. More on that soon.)
For now, let’s catch up.
Last week a flurry of activity. R.E.A.C.H. sought emergency relief from the FCC. The Supreme Court heard oral argument on the Hobbs Act. And everyone awaited a ruling from the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals on IMC’s request to stay implementation of one-to-one.
As if to emphasize the importance of the ruling, news broke of two $20MM+ TCPA settlements in the meantime.
But no news came from either the FCC or the Eleventh Circuit for most of the week. And with only a handful of business minutes left on Friday before one-to-one was set to kick in matters were looking bleak. It was a long day of last-second maneuvers and nail biting.
But winners win.
So the first piece of news broke.
On Friday at 4:30 eastern the FCC issued a ruling STAYING the one-to-one rule for up to one year. That set off massive celebration across the lead generation world. And this article quickly became the best-read article on TCPAWorld.com ever:
STAY GRANTED!!!!!!!!!: FCC Postpones One-to-One Effective Date for Up To One Year!!
Yet that turned out to just be the appetizer!
Less than five minutes later–literally!– the Eleventh Circuit issued a ruling not just issuing a stay but actually GRANTING IMC’s petition challenging one-to-one completely. This effectively destroys the order (although there is some nuance here I will discuss tomorrow.)
Just an amazing outcome. And so amazing that the Eleventh Circuit judges and clerks put in so much time–with the holidays intervening–to deliver this ruling ahead of the one-to-one effective date. Just so so incredible.
But there was even more news.
In the wake of the excitement Lending Tree apparently sent an INSANE glory-hogging email positioning itself as the driving force behind the results–some sort of secret deal it implies it struck with the FCC–and specifically told its partners R.E.A.C.H. had nothing to do with the outcome.
My goodness.
What a day.
No wonder everybody in the world is tuning in right now.
But the best is yet to come.
Tomorrow A.M. you will wake up to the Czar’s DEFINITIVE analysis of the Eleventh Circuit’s ruling in IMC. What does it really mean? What impact will it have? What was the Court’s analysis? You will have it straight from the Czar tomorrow.
Then Tomorrow Afternoon we will have Troutman Amin‘s OFFICIAL discussion of the rulings and its impact on the TCPAWorld on a critical Deserve to Win podcast Ep. 30. Follow our YouTube channel RIGHT NOW to be the first to watch this critical breakdown!!!
Later in the week we will be joining additional webinars–including with Contact Center Compliance– to further break down the ruling. You can also expect a number of additional articles on TCPAWorld as we break down all the consequences of last week’s events.
