BALANCED OUT?: TCPA Class Actions Drop in June, 2026 YOY For the First Time Since November– Is it Fall Out From SMS Discord?

For years now people have been asking me when TCPA class action filings will peak.

Well folks, we may have our answer.

June, 2026 saw 250 TCPA filings and 191 TCPA Class Action filings– a huge number of filings but LOWER than the same period last year.

In June, 2025 the TCPAWorld saw 257 total filings and 202 class action filings.

That means this June saw 11 FEWER class actions than last year.

Now that’s hardly a meaningful drop– but what IS meaningful is that there was a drop at all. Every month this year we’ve seen YoY gains in filings– so this change in direction could be a signal that TCPA cases have peaked. Maybe this is the result of the confusion over SMS rules slow DNC case filings.

Or it might just be a sophisticated market taking a breather headed into the summer. Unclear.

What we do know is that YoY filings for 2026 remain up substantially– 1,263 this year compared to 1,052 this  time last year. That’s a 20% increase at the mid-point of the year.

The nation’s top filer this year so far has been Gerald Lane– representing 431 consumers. Eesh that’s a lot.

We’ll keep an eye on these trends.
